Recently I went to a family wedding it was really wonderful the bride and groom a true love match. Country elegance at it's best the bride and groom came to church from the family home in a horse drawn carriage. A warm summers day with a blue sky and fluffy white clouds to match the netting on the wedding dress. A bouquet of white hydrangeas with a little added sparkle. Four bridesmaids in teal and two very young ones in white with large bows at the back of their little dresses. Bouquets of Lisymachia and pale pink roses. The horses made their way past the village cricket green and up the narrowing lane to the old stone church. Guests in all their finery soft perfume wafts, feathery hats, lace and pretty satin shoes waiting for a first glimpse of the bride making her way down the isle, past her precious family and friends, passing pews decorated with gypsophilia and white silky bows on her father's arm to meet the gaze of her groom. After a wedding service, choir in attendance, rose petal confetti, clapping, many smiles and camera clicks later the newly weds get back into the carriage and set off for the reception, held on manicured lawns and gardens, Pimms , cool fruit juices and a wedding breakfast await. A truly blessed day. Here are some of my water colour impressions of the wedding There is a bit of artistic licence in the colours ( for example the lilac wedding guest is actually silvery grey silk ) some colours are easier to paint on a white background than others ! Enjoy x
