                                          Spring is here!

These photos of Spring blossoms were taken recently.  They are so pretty against the blue sky, real wedding inspiration.  I am so looking forward to The Royal Wedding to seeing the dress. I am sure Catherine Middleton will look stunning.  On face book for the British Monachy there are updates on the wedding plans.  Fiona Cairns is making the wedding cake and McVities a biscuit cake to a family  recipe requested by Prince William for the reception.  We will be eating  cake too that day as part of the celebrations.  In keeping with the wedding theme I have been  experimenting with a few embroidered flowers on some shell pink silk dupion and have posted a little picture here. I do so love bullion roses they are best worked with a milliners needle as it has a long shaft for the wraps of thread.  There are two needles in the picture the other is a crewel needle if I remember rightly I have used  it for the french knots and the leaves.
Enjoy your weekend :)

Lovely pictures. The blossoms look stunning against the brilliant blue sky.
Your embroidery is so pretty, what are you going to put it on to, Sally?

Well I was thinking perhaps a headband or a little drawstring bag.
